UC Berkeley Studio CP 208: Napa Oxbow

City of Napa community members and UC Berkeley City Planning students on a site tour of The Oxbow.

In Spring 2023, Jane Lin and Prof. Elizabeth Macdonald co-taught a City Planning studio (CP 208) that collaborated with the City of Napa on design recommendations for The Oxbow, a district adjacent to Downtown Napa. The Oxbow, most well known for its food hall, is surrounded by the Napa River and a flood bypass channel that is doubles as gathering space.

Students conducted site analysis and offered ideas for urban design.

The work has been posted to the City’s website, https://napariverline.org/
